Carlton Group Chairman Howard L. Michaels has announced the hiring of senior real estate professional Andrew Hoffman as Head of Asset Management for Carlton’s principal transaction group, Carlton Strategic Ventures (CSV).

Additionally, Mr. Hoffman served 18 years as the President of Clarendon Management Corp., an owner-operated management company, where he oversaw an $800 million, 2,500 apartment unit portfolio, including the 1,000-unit London Terrace Gardens in Chelsea.  He was also the Chief Development Officer on the team that developed the $400 million Hard Rock Park Hotel & Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Mr. Hoffman attended Boston University where he concentrated in business and construction.

Mr. Hoffman currently serves at the following organizations:

  • Chairman of The Community Housing Improvement Program, an industry owner-advocate organization
  • Executive Board member of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations
  • Boardmember of the Associated Owners and Builders

“Mr. Hoffman further bolsters Carlton’s commitment to its principal transaction business,” Carlton Group general counsel Dan Bildner said.

Carlton is presently the managing member of more than 2 million square feet of assets which it runs on a day-to-day basis, excluding approximately $2 billion of investments which Carlton owns in conjunction with clients.  CSV is currently under contract and in negotiations on more than $1 billion of apartment and hotel joint ventures with clients of the firm where CSV invests its discretionary capital.  CSV frequently invests deposit money and sponsor equity with clients on a case-by-case basis.
